I Can’t Wait To Do It All Again

This week’s birth story comes from a lovely couple Georgina & Alfie who attended a TCBS Hypnobirthing Course with Charlotte Inkpin of Hypnobirthing with Charlotte, covering areas across Braintree, Essex.

Thank you for sharing the arrival of Presley with us!

“At 12:45am on my due date 10th November my waters broke 10 minutes later my surges started and were every 6 minutes apart straight away. I had a bath and relaxed for as long as I could, at around 7am I started using the TENS machine and this stayed on me until I was 8cm dilated (11hours later) I phoned the hospital as I felt more uncomfortable and went in to be assessed around 10am – I was told I was 3cm to go for a walk and see if I could get to 4cm so I could go into a room with a pool, I was next assessed at 1pm which I was 4cm and then shown to my room – I carried on using my tens machine and only used gas & air in the last 4 hours of my labour I was still focusing on my breathing but also had a playlist on in the background which was helpful to have a bit of a distraction.

I was 8cm at around 18:30pm and I was able to get in the pool from that point and by 19:22pm our son Presley was born weighing 8lb 3oz, I couldn’t have coped without my hypnobirthing breathing I felt in control throughout my whole labour & Alfie felt he could support me the way I needed to be supported he knew what to say to keep me focused on my breathing. Even now I use my hypnobirthing breathing if I’m having a moment, or feel stressed – it really has changed my whole outlook of birth and I can’t wait to do it all again.”
